As a Software Development Director, you'll lead technical innovation behind industry-leading imaging solutions, AI-powered clinical platforms, and precision medicine technologies that set new standards in GI research.
The purpose of this role is to own the technical vision and execution of our clinical platforms and imaging technologies that accelerate the development of life-changing treatments for IBD and other GI conditions.
Main Responsibilities
Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for clinical platforms, AI solutions, and data systems.
Architect enterprise-grade, cloud-native solutions maintaining regulatory compliance and standards.
Utilize software development standards, quality protocols, testing automation, and CI/CD pipelines for rapid, safe delivery.
Oversee technology stack selection, infrastructure choices, and integration strategies.
Product Innovation
Develop partnerships, oversee, and drive development of solutions for clinical research, including AI/ML models and computer vision platforms.
Collaborate with clinical teams to identify technology opportunities that differentiate services and improve trial efficiency.
Lead the development of imaging and clinical services solutions.
Partner with product management to translate business requirements into compliant technical specifications and solutions.
Team Development
Build and mentor high-performing software engineering teams delivering mission-critical clinical software.
Recruit top engineering talent across software development, AI/ML, and data engineering.
Establish engineering culture, processes, and career pathways promoting technical excellence.
Foster cross-functional collaboration and provide hands-on technical leadership.
Strategic Execution
Align technology initiatives with business objectives and clinical research goals.
Manage development budgets, resources, and timelines for successful project delivery.
Communicate technical concepts to executive leadership and clinical partners.
Establish KPIs for development velocity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
You will bring
Technical Leadership: 10+ years leading enterprise software development with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and modern development practices.
AI/ML Implementation: Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning systems in production.
Rapid Delivery Expertise: Proven track record of implementing engineering practices that dramatically increase development velocity while maintaining quality.
Domain Expertise: Background in life sciences, clinical research, or CRO environments, with strong preference for experience in medical imaging, gastroenterology research, or healthcare AI applications.
Customer-Obsessed Mindset: Experience building customer-facing medical software products with demonstrated ability to translate clinical researcher needs into technical requirements.
People Leadership: Track record of building and mentoring high-performing engineering teams, with the ability to attract top talent and foster a culture of technical excellence.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
