Dams Engineers (Civil) - Various Opportunities & Levels of Experience – role at GHD.
This opportunity is in the Dams team based in Tasmania, with positions at various levels of experience to join a growing, multidisciplinary team.
What you will do
Providing specialised technical services to clients on a diverse range of dam-related projects including feasibility studies, new design, and dam upgrade projects.
Leading the safety evaluation of existing dams, spillways, embankments, and related structures; performing dam safety risk assessments and identifying risk mitigation strategies.
Leading dam safety surveillance activities for a range of Australia's major dam owners.
Actively participate in client relationship management, business development, development of proposals, reports and technical analysis.
Providing support for a range of other supporting disciplines including geotechnical investigations and construction support.
What you will bring to the team
Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil) or higher qualifications with relevant experience in dam design, construction, or safety assessment and management.
Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership (or already Chartered for senior roles).
Knowledge of design of a broad range of dam types, including embankment and concrete dams.
Knowledge of a broad range of elements which may include spillway design, dam design, design of outlets and intake towers, hydropower facilities, dam safety and risk assessments and construction phase experience.
Experience with investigation and construction phase services, as well as an understanding of dam safety management practices and guidelines.
For the right candidate, a part-time appointment (minimum of 0.8 FTE) will be considered.
