Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.
**Your Opportunity**:
The role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker is to collaboratively deliver culturally appropriate mental health support within their community and HHS catchment to address the unique social and emotional wellbeing needs arising from historical trauma, cultural disconnection and social determinants of health.
The position of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker is to:
Enhance, integrate and promote a culturally sensitive client focused approach to engaging and embedding social and emotional wellbeing principles of care into CHQ.
Actively engage, support and encourage relationships with key stakeholders and local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations to improve access to service provision and coordination of complex care consumers.
Collaboratively advocate for the rights and needs of children and families and deliver complex mental health support, co-case management of clinical care and co-ordination.
