**Position Information**:
Bellevue Hill Public School, population 566 students with 71% non-English speaking background, has twenty-four classes mainly housed in open plan learning environments which facilitate communication and creativity, igniting the potential of all students. Teachers work collaboratively in teams, engaging students in inquiry-based learning K-6. All staff have participated in a _Cultures of Thinking_ professional learning over two years to develop a 'thinking school' for students and staff.
The school strives for academic excellence within a culturally diverse community, catering for the potential of all students. All programs are differentiated and there is an extension class catering for high potential students in Year 5 & 6. There is a strong emphasis on the Creative and Performing Arts with a major Musical and/or Art Show alternating each year.
Other programs include languages, dance, drama, music, sport, technology, spelling bees, debating and public speaking. The language program plays a vital role in developing the students' cultural and language heritage with Hebrew and Russian as Community Languages and Italian as a LOTE (Languages Other Than English ) program. 46% students study Hebrew as a community language.
There is an informed and highly involved parent association with active P&C committees to support the school in fundraising, traffic, uniform and the environment.
**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach Infants and Primary - Community Language - Hebrew.
Willingness to collaborate with teams of teachers.
Willingness to assist with dance, drama and visual arts as part of our biennial school musical and/or art show, within the language program.
Knowledge of the use of technology and its effective use in teaching and learning.
