With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent Project Delivery to join our Perth Asset & Projects team with occasional mine site travel.
The primary purpose of this role is responsible for managing all assigned capital projects and miscellaneous operation improvement projects activities by planning, controlling and leading the execution of project activities, including following and adhering to company standards and approved system.
The incumbent is required to demonstrate strong capability in stakeholder managements including contractor management, excellent communication skills and time management skills, to ensure all projects can be delivered safely as per agreed Key Performance Indicators.
**Key responsibilities and deliverables**:
- Manage the projects team to ensure all assigned project works are effectively delivered.
- Identify, evaluate and implement improvement initiatives, including modifications to equipment, introduction of new technology and materials to improve asset reliability and longevity in line with industry best practice.
- Liaise with KML operation departments and finance department stakeholders to ensure Capital Expense Request approval process is followed efficiently.
- Plan, organise and develop project implementation plan, project schedule, cost estimate and other relevant reports and use management tools to control schedule, quality and cost for all assigned projects.
- Ensure that technical assurance activities/requirements are completed, fit for purpose and aligned with Company's requirements and standards
- Track project progress and exploit critical path of the project to meet the project timelines.
- Implement quality control programs aligned to ISO certified quality assurance system to meet end user requirements, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure project works are carried out in accordance with KML HSE policy and procedures.
- Collaborate with Contract team to initiate, prepare and negotiate relevant contractual agreements or variations.
- Ensure Change Management process is strictly followed.
- Review and ensure accuracy of Project monthly and quarterly report.
- Regular follow up on the status of project and drive any required mitigation plans to achieve both cost and schedule requirements.
- Actively challenge and encourage project team members to seek initiatives to improve cost effectiveness and productivity for the organization.
- Liaise and support other areas of KML operation to ensure overall project goals are met.
**Essential requirements** **and key experience**;
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- Project Management Qualification
- Minimum 5 years of experience
- A strong background in Project Management
- Demonstrated capability in project planning and execution
- Significant experience in the mining, processing or associated industries.
- Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Project skills
- Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
- Decision making ability and leadership skills
- Time management and organization skills
- National Police Clearance
- Permanent work rights in Australia
