**The Company**

Our client is a well established and market leading distributor of Asian food products across Australia. Established 40+ years ago, this family owned business distribute a wide variety of food and beverage products to major customers.

**The Role**

An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing & Supply Planner to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to build upon your professional career.

This position will be responsible for managing the end to end process from raising purchase orders and LC's to clearance of goods, tracking of vessels, chasing documentation as well as receipting and costing of goods. This position will also manage relationships with suppliers, customs agents, freight forwarders and AQIS to ensure compliance and a smooth process.

Responsibilities include:

- Manage the purchasing of inventory from suppliers
- Ensure there is sufficient inventory to meet customers' requirements
- Build a positive working relationship with suppliers to ensure effective two-way collaboration
- Prepare individual supply plans for each supplier ensuring optimal stock levels
- Strategic sourcing and managing the introduction of new lines and suppliers into company range
- Work closely with the sales and demand planning teams
- Maintain SKU level master data in systems to ensure data accuracy
- Pro-actively report on current and potential supplier service level issues.
- Report on current and potential product obsolescence

**Skills and Experience**
- Relevant experience as a Purchasing Officer or similar
- Food, FMCG or consumer goods industry exposure beneficial
- Chinese language skills required (verbal & written)
- Strong computer and systems skills
- Strategic sourcing experience is required
