Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.The Role:We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to assist a 38-year-old male participant living with a spinal cord injury in Nerang, QLD.
Our participant lives with his sister and her family and requires daily support to manage personal care, transfers, domestic tasks, and community access.
Support is required 7 x days a week, with personal care requiring a two-person assist.
Tentative shift times are: 6:00am - 9:30am (2 x Assist) 12:00pm- 2:00pm (1 x Assist) 6:30pm - 9:30pm (2 x Assist) Our participant is kind and friendly, with a great sense of humour.
He has a passion for cars, photography, and nature, enjoys spending time with friends and family, and remains actively involved in his church community.
Part-time and full-time hours are available for suitable applicants, with flexibility to accommodate your availability.
Pay Rates: Day shift $40.00 per hour Afternoon Shift $44.00 per hour Saturday shift $56.00 per hour Sunday shift $72.00 per hour Key responsibilities include: Assistance with Personal Care, such as personal hygiene, dressing, bathing & grooming.
Assistance with Catheter management Assistance with Bowel Therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation) Hoisting for all transfers using a full sling hoist (2-person assist) Completing skin checks Administrating Medication Meal preparation and feeding assistance (includes fatigue and posture considerations) Assistance with domestic tasks including laundry, cleaning & general tidying Assistance with home exercise programs and postural management Support with community access and rehabilitation exercises Helping establish structure, encourage independence, and promote safe engagement in day-to-day activities Skills & Experiences: Australian Driver Licence Current National Police Clearance Working with Children Check (WWCC) NDIS Worker Screening Check Current First Aid and CPR certificates Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent (preferred but not essential) A minimum of 6 months of experience as a support worker, or relevant experience in a similar role Have excellent communication skills and a passion for making a difference Please note: two current references are requiredIf you meet the above criteria and are interested in the role, hit the "Apply" button now.
