We're so thrilled you found us We're birdsnest, a womens fashion retailer, though we like to think of ourselves as Wardrobe Wingbirds Our mission is to help customers find the perfect outfit that makes them feel amazing - inside and out. To make this happen we have over 140 talented people working across 14 different teams from Software to Fashion buying & Customer Service to Warehouse. This is all based in our little nest in the country town of Cooma in the Snowy Mountains of NSW.

**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a fashion buyer to join our energetic and passionate team in Cooma. The role will involve building relationships with our suppliers, reviewing their ranges for each season, recommending the best selections for our customers, working to budgets, placing and finalising orders. We want you to learn to love and understand our customer, developing a keen eye for what she will connect to and be inspired by. Initially you will be given careful guidance on your range selections, however ultimately, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the direction of our range and be given ongoing responsibilities.

The role is full time for one year covering a maternity leave position. We anticipate there will be opportunities to stay on permanently in the team after this time and that will be reviewed 3 months before the end of the 12 month cover.

**What we are looking for**
Womens fashion buyer who:

- Is naturally passionate about fashion and understands the power of making women feel good about themselves
- Is strategic in their buying - weighing up analysis of our customer, past performance, trends, price points, volumes advantages and margin in order to recommend the most effective spend
- Has attention to detail with excellent organisation skills
- Is open to feedback - listening, interpreting and adapting
- Is positive and proactive
- Has natural ability and experience in negotiation and relationship building
- Has a sound understanding of financials, budgets and forecasting with strong computer literacy, particularly in spread sheeting
- Ideally has experience as a buyer and / or retail / fashion industry experience
