**The Opportunity**

Shortland Waters Retirement Village, located in Newcastle, NSW, is a beautiful village nestled amidst the tranquil beauty of NSW's Hunter region. As the Maintenance Officer, you will manage the day-to-day maintenance & repair tasks around our retirement village and work with local contractors to ensure a safe, vibrant and well-maintained village for all to enjoy. Working closely with your fellow Maintenance Officer and team members, you will ensure our buildings & fixtures are well-maintained and presentable. You'll enjoy interacting with residents, working autonomously and alongside team members, and have general maintenance or 'handyperson' experience.

**This is a permanent full-time opportunity working Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm**
**Also, Casual position available.**

**You will**
- You will attend to various maintenance requests to create a safe and pleasant environment for residents, visitors, staff and others
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure projects undertaken are safe, timely and completed to a high standard
- Oversee maintenance work undertaken by Contractors within the community
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks around the community as per schedules
- Be a friendly face to the residents and work alongside a fantastic team

**What you will bring**
- Experience in General Maintenance and 'Handyperson' roles or possess domestic maintenance skills (highly desired)
- A warm & caring personality with an interest in making a difference every day
- Valid driver's licence (required)
- Current Police Check certificate (required, but if you do not have one, we can complete for you)
- Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 Vaccinations (required)
