**Role**:
The Canteen Assistant Manager is responsible for the effective operation of the Canteen. Oversee the day-to-day operations of a school canteen, including the supervision and rostering of voluntary workers, opening and closing the canteen, preparation and cooking for service.

The role also includes ordering, purchasing and checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets, and ensuring that school procedures are followed.

Implement cleaning routines to ensure that food storage and preparation areas are clean, hygienic and compliant with food handling legislation/standards; ensure that food preparation equipment is cleaned and maintained in accordance with safe work standards and safe food handling standards.

Perform periodic stocktake tasks relating to food, supplies and equipment on hand.

Maintaining an awareness of safe food handling / storage legislation and standards, as well as relevant Departmental policies and strategies (e.g. healthy canteens).

The Canteen Assistant Manager is directly answerable to the Canteen Manager, and ultimately to the Principal.

**Responsibilities**:
As Canteen Assistant you will have a passion for providing fresh and healthy food and drinks as well as working with children and the broader community. Your key responsibilities will be to:

- deliver an existing menu and develop seasonal menu options
- oversee the canteen premises and assets
- engage, manage and train volunteers
- stock control and management
- ensure food safety and compliance is maintained
- maintain records
- support P&C run events throughout the year
- uphold and demonstrate the school's values and behaviour expectations
- communicate and promote the canteen menu and service
- maintain current qualifications

Our school was established in 1989 and has grown from 169 students, peaked at 901 students in 1995, and has a current enrolment of 705.

The school population is predominantly English speaking with a significant number of bi-lingual children.
