**Procurement at News**

The company's strong growth, particularly in digital media, means we are recruiting for new team members to join the News Procurement team.

Our purpose is to drive better commercial value, while making it easier to do business and improving risk and compliance.

We do this with people, processes and systems that deliver value.

We are a highly collaborative team looking for someone who wants to join our team and bring your skills to make an impact on News both locally and globally.

**What's the role?**

We are currently recruiting for a Group Procurement Manager who can lead our production, property and and logistics (PPL) categories.

Reporting to the GM Procurement, you will:

- Lead the development of a strategic and operational procurement work program.
- Establish high functional and proactive relationships with key stakeholder groups.
- Create and drive a positive, collaborative, commercially focused delivery culture within your team and across your business functions.
- Provide timely information (including reports) and advice to the GM Procurement, your procurement peers and business unit peers.
- Be accountable for the delivery of the PPL savings program.
- Be accountable for the delivery of high quality and commercially savvy sourcing activities in PPL.
- Be accountable for any contract management escalation, particularly taking a leading role in disputes and claims.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement activities in the PPL procurement team to deliver a high performing function.
- Lead the PPL procurement team's role in delivery of activities to increase News environmental and sustainable procurement outcomes, e.g. Reconciliation Action Plan and 1 degree programs.
- Lead and support operational sourcing and procurement activities where your team is at capacity.

**Who you are**
- High performing senior procurement professional with 10+ years procurement experience and at least 5 years operating in a senior management/leadership role.
- Strong experience managing and leading high performing procurement teams.
- Advanced skills in stakeholder engagement and management, across all role levels up to and including C-Suite.
- Exceptional commercial experience and skills and proven experience in managing disputes and claims.
- You have a practical approach, with strong operational mindset
- You are positive, proactive and collaborative and bring an ethical procurement approach and an ability to challenge the status quo
- Resilient, flexible and able to work to tight deadlines
- Confident in your ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines

First Nations people and people with disability that have the above skills are strongly encouraged to apply.

Please note that experience in the media industry is not a requirement for this role. News seeks to find the person who is the right team fit and has the right skills.

**Who are we?**

We are Australia's number one and most influential media organisation with more than 150 prestige brands across news, sport and lifestyle. Each month more than 17 million Australians choose to consume news and information from our digital and print products - more than any other media group in Australia.

**What's next?**
- Diversity strengthens our national teams and newsroom as we seek to tell stories that represent the communities of Australia. Our people make us unique, and so we are committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability or gender identity. Applicants of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply._
