OverviewGympie State High School and One Mile State School are seeking a passionate and people-focused Community Education Counsellor (Identified) to support First Nations students and their families.

With a strong focus on student wellbeing, cultural respect, and quality teaching, our dedicated team supports students to grow, succeed, and feel proud of who they are.ResponsibilitiesProvide support services to ensure that the best possible assistance/services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families and Communities.Monitor student attendance and retention - data monitoring, phone calls home, home visits, student check-ins.Maintain One School documentation and records management.Assist students to overcome barriers with school engagement.Participate in Enrolment, Re-entry, and Exclusion meetings where applicable.Participate in the planning of activities to enhance student involvement in education.Develop and deliver lunch-time activities as part of a proactive student wellbeing program.Establish and maintain links with out of school sources of information and support services.Provide information to the school community about Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander social and cultural perspectives.Please view the Role Description for a full list of responsibilities.Submit Your ApplicationAttach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history).
