**THE POSITION**
**The Information Systems Manager **will be responsible for management of Information Systems across the School. Responsibility for design, implementation, management and maintaining data integrity for key business services.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Oversee and manage the organisational processes in relation to data across the school environment including database integrity and development, enhancement to current database systems and ongoing review and upgrade of processes.
- Assist with identifying technological service improvements by conducting project reviews across the educational and business operations within the Colleges.
- Develop, implement, and promote strategies and policies to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and standards in relation to IT governance and data protection and management
- Creation and maintenance of policies and procedures in relation to the schools' Information Systems, processes, and workflows
- With oversight from the Director of IT and eLearning, setup and maintain the LMS and Academic Reporting systems in TASS and associated systems.
- Assist with the compilation, collaboration and enhancement of data analysis for both academic and systemic data including analysis, interpretation, and presentation to enhance and optimise processes in the education and business operations within the school
- Partner with the Colleges' Leadership in the development and oversight of the processes for Academic reporting, government reporting, SIS (Student Information System) database and other relevant information systems as required
- Manage information systems projects from assessment of need, understanding of stakeholder requirements, through to user testing and implementation for each project.
- Manage and maintain the Day-to-Day operations of the College's TASS School Management System. This includes oversight of records pertaining to enrolments, parents, student, teachers, medical and the co-curricular program to ensure data integrity and validation.
- Work collaboratively to identify and develop proposals for new projects and enhancement of current systems and workflows.
**ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES**
- Excellent knowledge in relational database concepts and theories including data modelling and database design.
- Knowledge in using Microsoft Query/ SQL / VBA
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- A passion and understanding of curriculum requirements and needs
- Good planning, organising and prioritising skills and the ability to perform all tasks with strict attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, with customer service focus.
- Flexibility to adapting to changing demands in a busy and varied environment.
- The ability to prioritise and time-manage where there may be multiple competing tasks and deadlines.
- The ability to work productively, even without direct supervision.
- The ability to effectively liaise with staff, departments, and industry in an articulate, pleasant and professional manner.
- Possess positive and friendly interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Maintain respect for confidential student and teacher information.
**DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE**
- Experience in an educational environment would be highly desirable.
- Experience in using school database systems (TASS) would be highly desirable.
**CONDITIONS AND SALARY**
- This is a permanent full-time position with the salary to be negotiated
- Sick Leave entitlement of 10 days annually.
- Long Service Leave entitlement of 1.3 weeks for each year of service, which can be taken after 7 years.
- The College contributes superannuation in accordance with the current legislation.
**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
- An appropriate tertiary degree and/ or recent experience related to the position
- Intermediate to advanced skills in the use of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
- Working with Children's Suitability Card, or the ability to apply, is essential.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
- You will be required to work at both campuses - Moreton Bay College and Moreton Bay Boys' College.
- You will have an individual computer in a shared workspace.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Close vision is a requirement of the role.
