We're looking for a head barista with an interest in espresso and filter brewing coupled with training for our bustling Brunswick location. You love leading teams and training people, and would also assist with training in wholesale training program.

Head Barista - Wide Open Road Coffee - Brunswick

We are looking for a dedicated coffee professional with weekend availability to work a 38 hour work week in our Brunswick flagship. You're engaged with specialty coffee, leading teams and care about great service and the environmental impact. Your experience is predominantly in high-volume, quality spaces & you're keen to learn and lean in to service where need be. There is also opportunity to develop and evolve the training program for Wide Open Road wholesale education as well in a part time capacity.

Wide Open Road Coffee has been roasting and brewing from our iconic Brunswick location since 2009. We care immensely about the communities we serve, seeing ourselves as a crucial part of them. With an eye for quality we aim to give the community an authentic and unique hospitality experience. We roast our coffee in-house and have an individual take on breakfast menu classic. We care about innovation and creativity, working day in day out to find the best coffees possible and bring them to your cup.

On Offer:

- leadership position within our Brunswick flagship cafe managing coffee program and progression of baristas within coffee making team.
- opportunity to work with GM to develop systems, process and training within cafe and wholesale coffee training programs.
- working with wholesale to develop barista training programs for company.

Your responsibilities as Head Barista will include:

- Leading a team of skilled baristas and managing their progression and training.
- maintaining coffee quality on a day to day level in the venue.
- maintaining espresso bar facilities and ordering schedules
- drive the coffee communication and education with team and customer base
- Be a driving force in positive working culture in venue
- Represent WOR core values at all times

You will regularly report both formally and informally to the Venue Manager and General Manager as well as communicating and sharing with those in your team. This role requires weekend work and you must have the right to work full time in Australia. For the right person, this role has the opportunity to move into a barista trainer position as the company grows.
