**APS5 Finance Officer**
- 3-month contract with potential to extend by a further 2 x 6 months
- Canberra location with possibility to travel
- Possibility of flexible work arrangements

Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS5 Finance Officer to join their Business Services team to support Traditional Owners, stakeholders and staff to undertake activities, such as finance, procurement and asset management.

**About the opportunity**
- Payment of accounts and assisting with budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Preparation of end of month accrual pack
- Reconciling and receipting of monies received
- Co-ordinating, reconciling and invoicing services to stakeholders and handling vendor & customer account enquires
- Payment of Board of Management sitting fees and travel allowance

**Ideally you will have**
- Demonstrated experience in the use of departmental financial systems, SAP and TechOne
- Demonstrated experience and an understanding of the procurement process in the Australian Government in line with relevant legislation (PGPA Act) and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and adapting communication methods to suit the audience.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out and complete own work including setting priorities, monitoring workflows and maintaining high standards
- Ability to evaluate issues to identify business improvements and use judgement when dealing with complex problems/sensitive issues.
