Senior Estimator

Prepare, present and deliver tenders to $1mil to $150mil+Diverse projects – Defence, Government, Water, Fuel, Mining & IndustrialWould suit someone with Defence, remediation and infrastructure experienceWorking closely with the Pre-Contracts Manager and Estimating Leads, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for the accurate preparation, presentation, and follow-up of tenders for Duratec.Join our dynamic bidding team and contribute to tenders across a wide variety of major construction projects nationwide.Play a pivotal role in shaping innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions within the estimating process, all while being supported by a collaborative and experienced team.RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare and develop accurate cost estimates, including cost escalation analysisReview designs and engineering specifications for cost effectivenessCompile accurate quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantitiesPrepare detailed trade package breakdowns, manage RFQ submissions, and maintain strong subcontractor engagement to ensure pricing accuracyReview and validate subcontractor pricing, clarifications and exclusions across all disciplinesIdentify the need for additional information or clarification through RFIs to ensure complete tender documentsConduct risk analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineeringCoordinate team activities and conduct tender cost estimate review meetingsSupport the preparation and development of construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentationDeliver detailed tenders with traceability and provide support for deliveryLiaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationshipsCapable of balancing the demands of both minor and major tenders at once, without compromising on accuracyContinuous mentorship and training to the team of estimatorsABOUT YOUYour ability to be adaptable and proactive will see that you succeed in this role.
You will bring:Experience working in the construction space, tendering on buildings, civil, engineering, resource, etc. industriesExcellent relationships with local subcontractors and supply chainFinancial and commercial acumenInterpersonal skills, confident, professional and self-motivatedAttention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlinesTertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalentProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and ProjectWorking knowledge of estimating software (e.g. Pronamics Expert, Bluebeam etc)THE BENEFITSWe offer support to every individual to attain their best potential with ongoing opportunity to develop individual capability.
