**The Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for a
**Data & Performance Analyst **with at least 2-4 years' experience to join our Strategy & Business Improvement Team, working primarily with our Wealth business unit.

This is a newly created role which will have four key areas of responsibility:

- Ownership of Wealth data and preparation of regular reports for the leadership team and board
- Performing ad hoc analysis and reports for Wealth leadership team
- Supporting our Investment Advisors with developing detailed portfolio Performance reporting for selected key clients, such as attribution analysis and component benchmarking
- Supporting and driving strategic improvement projects

We've created the role because we think there's more we can do Whilst there are operational responsibilities to the role, we are envisioning that a significant part of the role will be working to improve processes and expanding our client service offering. You'll be working closely with wealth & strategy teams to see what directions we can improve or automate, under the guidance of the senior members of the Strategy and Wealth teams.

**About you**

We're looking for someone who loves data and investments and has a passion to solve problems that extend beyond just what the numbers say. You'll combine an interest or experience in investments and portfolio performance analysis with skills in understanding, interrogating, and improving data. We're not expecting someone who is already an expert in all of what we're doing (but if you are, that's great), but we are looking for someone with strong experience in either data or performance analysis, and a real interest to learn the other.

You will have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy taking responsibility for the improvement of processes, critical problem solving and strategy development within an organisation. Your time management skills will mean you are able to stick to deadlines and deal with pressure in a fast-paced environment. You must be a team player and someone that equally, can work independently.

**The following requirements are essential**:

- 2-4 years' experience either in management consulting, or in a portfolio performance analyst role
- Experience or interest in developing portfolio performance reporting across a broad range of asset classes, including composite benchmarking, attribution analysis, and associated risk metrics such as the Sharpe ratio
- Experience in completing ad hoc data analysis on large data sets, and using that to develop insight, solve complex problems and draw conclusions
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel skills
- Experience in SQL (or strong interest in learning) and database structuring
- Comfort with ambiguity, and ability to adapt to changing situations, priorities or requirements
- Strong communication skills, experience with stakeholder engagement at differing seniority
- Outcome focussed - ability to take ownership of projects and accountability for deliverables
- An interest in data and investments, and a thirst to learn and grow

**Nice to have**:

- Qualifications in investments and/or performance analysis (e.g., CIPM)
- Understanding of portfolio management, cash flows, fund management fees, transaction types, and tax and performance implication of these
- Moderate to advanced SQL skills
- Macro / VBA coding experience
- Power BI & Power Query experience
- Familiarity with portfolio management and investment information systems (e.g., Praemium, Morningstar)
