Ensures quality outpatient care to all hospitalized patients efficiently, in accordance with company policies and regulations.Principal Responsibilities and Duties:General Staff Related:Coordinate and schedule outpatient dialysis treatments and staff to ensure coverage and efficient utilization.Ensure treatments are performed according to policies, procedures, and regulations, with accurate documentation.Provide guidance and support to outpatient care staff; collaborate on staffing, hiring, and disciplinary actions.Ensure provision of dialysis services such as CRRT, hemoperfusion, peritoneal dialysis, and plasmapheresis.Participate in ongoing education on dialysis developments.Contribute to Quality Assessment and Improvement programs, maintain documentation, and report progress.Conduct outpatient staff meetings and ensure proper staff training and ongoing education.Patient Care:Assess patient needs, communicate with physicians, and implement care plan changes.Perform outpatient treatments and oversee dialysis-related medical and emergency functions.Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as ordered.Serve as a resource and subject matter expert for staff.Technical:Coordinate maintenance, infection control, and equipment management with technical staff.Operate dialysis and emergency equipment safely.Administration:Act as liaison among clinical staff, management, and facilities.Oversee billing, payroll, purchase orders, and reporting activities.Implement cost containment strategies.Physical Demands and Conditions:Work involves desk, computer work, patient interaction, and travel between facilities.Must pass Ishihara Color Blindness test; accommodations considered if needed.Work environment typical of healthcare settings, with exposure to infectious materials.Education:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (R.N.)Current state licensure.Experience and Skills:At least 9 months nursing experience plus 3 months dialysis care experience.Preferred: 6 months dialysis in an acute setting, 1 year medical-surgical or ICU-CCU experience, peritoneal dialysis experience.Leadership skills, quality improvement, team building, and communication skills required.Relationships:Internal: Outpatient staff, physicians, management, technical staff.External: Hospital personnel, vendors, external agencies.Supervision:Supervise outpatient nursing and technical staff.Additional Info:Position is part-time, entry level, in the healthcare industry.
