The Communications and Marketing team comprises two staff who have specific roles. Working in a small team requires a flexible approach to achieving outcomes.

**The primary objectives of the position are**:
Provide leadership, strategic and operational advice on communication and marketing strategies and proactively manage campaigns to support parliamentary initiatives and programs.
Develop and implement marketing, communication and media strategies and plans to support the Parliament's activities, including:

- development and management of the Parliament's website content;
- management of the Parliament's social media platforms with general and event specific content;
- marketing of the Parliament's services such as educational seminars and events and functions and other catering services; and
- production of significant publications, such as the annual report, and promotional displays.

Through collaboration, provide open and transparent communication to ensure stakeholders are well informed including communication regarding the working of Queensland's parliamentary committee system.
Manage the production and supply of promotional material for the Parliament.

**The specific accountabilities of the position are to**:

- Monitor and oversee the work outputs of the Communications and Marketing Team to ensure the provision of high quality advice and services on complex communication issues such as corporate identity, advertising, digital communications and crisis communication - providing feedback, assisting with problem solving and trouble-shooting where necessary.
- Analyse communication issues, risks and opportunities and provide advice to high level clients and stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communication strategies and plans for the Parliament in order to improve community understanding and awareness of the role and activities of the Queensland Parliament and to promote parliamentary activities and events.
- Lead work with team member to project manage the delivery of communication strategies including forward planning to ensure project milestones are delivered on time and on budget, as well as adhering to appropriate corporate guidelines and approval processes.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the creative direction of, and guide the preparation of communication materials (including print, online and audio visual materials, advertisements and other marketing collateral).
- Manage the continuous improvement of systems and processes and formal quality control methods to ensure a high level of output and client service.
