About the RoleAs a Shutdown Lead, you will be responsible for guiding a team of professionals coordinating and optimising shutdown activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution.
You will work closely with maintenance, operations, and contractors to deliver shutdowns on time and within budget while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: Coach and develop a team of shutdown coordinators to deliver exceptional performance Support problem solving initiatives to optimise and improve through each shutdown cycle Foster a culture of care, where it is safe to speak up and solve problems as a team Plan, schedule, and coordinate shutdown activities in alignment with business objectives Develop and maintain shutdown schedules, ensuring resources, materials, and equipment are available Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless execution Monitor shutdown progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies Ensure compliance with BHP safety standards, policies, and procedures Conduct post-shutdown reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives Manage budgets and report on shutdown performance metrics About You Experience managing teams in high pressure environments with an emphasis on development and coaching Proven experience in shutdown coordination, preferably in mining or heavy industry Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Knowledge of maintenance planning tools (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Projects) is desirable A commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering results Relevant trade or engineering qualifications are highly regarded About Our Process At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
