Firbank Grammar School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Visual Arts leader, to join our team and be responsible for coordinating and leading the Visual Arts department, with particular focus on teaching practice and fostering a collaborative team environment.

As a key leader within our school community, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Visual Arts, including overseeing our annual Art Show and supporting student learning and academic excellence.

**Job Details**:
This is an **ongoing**, **full-time (1.0FTE)** role at our Brighton Senior School Campus, commencing on **January 28th, 2025**, and includes a teaching allotment of Visual Communication and Design/Art. The leadership component of this position has a three-year tenure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Senior School Visual Arts department, including staffing, budgeting, resource allocation and facilities management.
- Staff Management: Be responsible for all people-based needs of the department, including staffing, fostering a climate of co-operation and trust, encouragement of professional development, conducting performance reviews and providing leadership, mentorship and guidance to department staff.
- Interaction with School Community: Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and faculty.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- VIT registration.
- Tertiary qualifications in Education and Visual Arts.
- Knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and recent trends in education.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive leading a team.
- Experience in a similar role, inclusive of people management, is highly regarded.
