**Opportunity**:
We are seeking
**Domestic Assistants** to join our Aged Community Care Team. The Domestic Assistant supports clients with domestic tasks in the home and encourages clients to actively participate in their care to maintain their independence

**Duties**:

- Support clients to undertake **domestic tasks in the home such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation and other tasks as prescribed within the care/support plan**:

- Inspire clients to participate in their care, encouraging them to undertake what they can and assisting where they require support
- Support clients to maintain control of their lives by understanding and developing their functional capacity to improve their overall health and wellbeing
- Develop and maintain an awareness of the support needs of each client to ensure appropriate person centered services are provided, escalating any concerns or feedback as required
- Undertake routine administrative tasks on Comcare notes, care/support plans and other relevant documentation that complies with organisational policies and procedures
- Participate in activities and conversations that support continuous improvement of service delivery, to ensure quality service provision is maintained and to achieve Best Care for every client
- Work cooperatively and develop respectful relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds

**About You**:

- Ability to undertake domestic/housekeeping tasks to a satisfactory standard, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Effective interpersonal skills to build trust, confidence, and rapport with clients, enabling you to encourage and motivate clients to be as independent as possible
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written) to ensure effective service delivery and to ensure service provision can be discussed, recorded, and reported on as required
- Ability to prioritise work
- Ability to work alone within a home and/or out in the community and an ability to work as part a team
- Basic First Aid Certificate is desirable.
- Willingness to work towards Certificate III in Community Services, Individual Support or Aged Care would be highly desirable

**Pay Rate**:

- Domestic Assistant $30.48 per hour (Casual) & $24.38 (Perm)
- Plus Super
- Plus $0.92c per k/m travel allowance

**Shifts & Rosters**:

- Silver Chain operates care services Monday to Friday. There are part-time & casual opportunities to suit your availability. We are looking for applicants who can:

- Work your preferred shifts each week, 2 days minimum / up to 5 days maximum
- Work any hours between: 09:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
- We welcome enquiries from those requiring half days or school hours

Based on Silver Chain Group Policy and Government Directions, you will be required to provide evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 including booster, or evidence of a medical exemption in order to commence employment with Silver Chain.
