The _Australian Financial Review_ is looking for a creative, innovative and well-organised Art Director to work across lifestyle and magazines. The role is primarily responsible for the art direction of the AFR's weekly lifestyle liftout, Life & Leisure, taking ownership of visual concepts which work in print and online. Additional responsibilities include art direction for the AFR's quarterly gloss Fin magazine.

This is a 10 month contract to cover parental leave. We are open to applicants who wish to work part-time.

In this role you will:

- work closely with the Life & Leisure and Fin Magazine editors and the editorial team to produce a quality liftout and magazine.
- meet demanding weekly deadlines.
- organise and direct cover shoots.
- conduct extensive photo research to ensure all images are in keeping with the magazine's aesthetic.

**Qualifications**:
What we would like to see:

- strong print production skills, ideally with experience in magazines or lifestyle.
- a sophisticated eye for design and the ability to redesign pages when required.
- ability to work autonomously and to deadline, within a team environment.
- excellent attention to detail and adaptability.
- advanced working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
