The role
Transport Officers (Truck Drivers) play a vital role in the safe and efficient delivery of linen, clinical and non-clinical supplies to Queensland Health facilities. This includes loading and unloading vehicles using roll cages, trolleys, and pallets while adhering to workplace health and safety policies. The role involves operating heavy vehicles in compliance with the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), maintaining accurate driving records, conducting pre-operational vehicle checks, and ensuring cleanliness of vehicles and equipment. Transport Officers also respond to operational needs, including third-party freight processing, courier deliveries, and stock movement using forklifts (if licensed). Reporting vehicle defects, incidents, and near misses is essential to maintaining safety and service quality.
