**Kitchen Hand | 20 Hours or Full Time| Macquarie Park**

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Culinary Support Specialist to join our dynamic kitchen team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our kitchen, providing crucial support in maintaining cleanliness, and organization, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Sanitation and Cleanliness**: Ensure all kitchen areas, including equipment and utensils, are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
- **Dishwashing**: Operate dishwashing machinery and manually clean pots, pans, and other kitchen items as needed.
- **Food Preparation Support**: Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- **Inventory Management**: Help with the organization and stocking of inventory, including receiving and storing deliveries.
- **Waste Management**: Properly dispose of kitchen waste and recycle materials according to established guidelines.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment and assist with minor repairs or adjustments.
- **Health and Safety Compliance**: Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe food handling practices.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation, providing support wherever needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good physical condition; ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items as needed.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
