This innovative approach represents a transformative shift offering a remarkable opportunity to shape the future of mental health and wellbeing in Queensland.About youDrawing on your real-life experience, coupled with skills learned through education and training, the Senior Peer Wellbeing Navigator, will lead a team of Peer Wellbeing Navigators to support and represent people impacted by mental illness, psychological distress and substance use or addiction.You will be comfortable to share personal experiences with program consumers within a safe and supported way and will have personal experience of a mental illness or psychological distress and recovery.Your leadership experience in the health or community services sector will be of great value in this role as well as your proven leadership and experience in working within a mental health or equivalent community-based support role with lived experience.The position may also carry a small caseload of participants, as needed, providing service navigation and linking participants to relevant therapy services.You will also need:Personal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health servicesCertificate IV Mental Health Peer Work, SHARC Peer Worker Training, Intentional Peer Support or willingness to complete2+ year relevant work experience in a peer worker or leadership roleNational Police CheckCurrent Working with Children Check - employmentNDIS Workers Screening checkEvidence of right to work in Australia100 points of identificationNDIS Workers Orientation module certificate - free online courseWhat we can offer youA purpose driven culture where people can thrive, everyone is respected, and differences are valuedAn equitable, diverse, and socially inclusive work environmentSalary packaging up to $15,899enables you to spend a portion of your salary before it is taxed to pay for things like rent, mortgage repayments, car leasingMeal and Entertainment allowance via salary packaging up to $2,650 per annumPaid parental leave after 12 months of ongoing employmentAccess for you and your family to our Employee Assistance ProgramTo view the full Position Description and submit your cover letter and application, click APPLY We encourage early applications as interviews will begin prior to advertising closing date.
