**Role Description/Criteria**

**St. Paul's Primary School is looking to appoint a committed, dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Officer (LSO) to join our learning community and assist our students.**

Hours are Monday to Friday
- 8:30am - 3:30pm.

The successful applicant:

- will be working with children supporting student learning under the direction of the classroom teacher and leader.
- work with individual and small groups of students both within and outside of the classroom to assist them with their educational and development programs.
- be able plan for and implement programs and strategies, supporting students with learning challenges
- document adjustments relating to student's Individual Learning Plans
- be highly motivated, committed, positive, friendly and enthusiastic
- have some experience working with students with a diverse range of needs
- have the capacity to cater effectively for a diverse range of learning needs
- display effective communication and organisational skills and the ability to be flexible, proactive and resourceful
- use initiative within the class environment to ensure optimal student support
- be self motivated and able to work independently if necessary
- be able to build positive relationships with children and assist in creating learning environments where all are valued and challenged
- demonstrate an understanding of child safety and the appropriate obligations and behaviours when engaging with students
- be committed to professional learning and ongoing improvement
- be committed to the values and ethos of the Catholic education system

**Special Requirements**:
Applicants must have:

- Working With Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid qualifications
- Certificate lll and/or Certificate lV in Education Support
