Reporting to the OHSET Manager, the OHSET Trainer is primarily responsible to ensure the competence of all operational people on site to do their job. You will be responsible to coordinate all training and development activities and initiatives in line with identified needs and training requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
**Specific Role Requirements**
- Ensure the competency of all operational staff to do their job through the design, delivery and assessment of competency based training and assessment.
- Develop company-wide training and development activities to ensure selection and delivery of high quality, cost effective training and outcomes for the business and individuals.
- Assist to develop and establish training systems for all employees, contractors and visitors to ensure statutory compliance and the safe, efficient achievement of business objectives.
- Establish systems and processes for personnel to be adequately inducted and trained with the Company.
- Ensure robust systems are in place to ensure personnel are adequately inducted and trained in their work area, and are aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures across the company.
- Provide, maintain and improve training materials and assessments to meet the nationally recognised standards for underground metalliferous mining, as well as standards and requirements for maintenance and mill operation.
- Effective delivery of training materials to site and office based personnel.
**Safety & Environment**
- Actively promote a safety culture on site.
- Display a clear commitment to safety and health, and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment.
- Operate in accordance with and comply the Company's Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes.
- Active participation in all communication and awareness systems.
- Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management.
- Operate in accordance with the Company's Environment Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment.
- Minimises waste generation through reduced consumption and increased re-use and recycling.
**Qualifications Required**
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment
- Lead Auditor Qualifications
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
**Desired Experience & Competencies**
- Minimum 1 years in the coordination of training courses, including the development and customisation of course content.
- The ability to coach and mentor others.
- Experience in dealing with external training providers, in particular the ability to communicate requirements for training content and negotiation of prices.
- Experience in the analysis and identification of individual and organisation training needs.
- An understanding of Australian educational frameworks, including nationally accredited training programs.
- An understanding of mining and minerals processing operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to positively influence others.
