The role of PMO Manager will be responsible for leading the development, integration, governance, and performance of project controls, planning, and reporting frameworks across multiple infrastructure and engineering projects.
The role supports consistent application of best practices in project management tools and systems, while leading a team of planners / schedulers, reporting analysts, and controllers in collaboration with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Specialist Services, Including But Not Limited To
Develop and lead PMO strategy across multiple concurrent infrastructure and engineering projects.
Govern project controls systems such as Primavera P6, MS Project, ARES PRISM (Contruent), and PowerBI.
Provide oversight and integration of scheduling, cost control, risk management, and performance reporting.
Act as the subject matter expert in tools transition and upgrades (e.g., Primavera SaaS migration).
Establish and maintain a centralised project schedule and reporting system.
Coordinate mobilisation of PMO resources for major project ramp-ups and bids.
Train and mentor internal teams on planning tools and processes.
Ensure alignment of internal methodologies with client PMO requirements.
Lead change control processes, including schedule baselining and forecasting.
Deliver programme-level reporting and dashboards for executive leadership and clients.
Drive innovation in project controls technology adoption and data-driven decision making.
Champion consistent PMO standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
Conduct stakeholder engagement and relationship management, remotely and on-site.
Support tender submissions with planning input, resourcing strategies, and programme advice.
This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, or Melbourne.
About You
We are looking for an experienced PMO Manager with 15+ years in project planning, scheduling, and project controls from an infrastructure or engineering project environment, including :
Proven leadership of PMO or controls teams across multi-disciplinary projects.
Experience with major public infrastructure / engineering projects, and alliance contract models.
Deep understanding of cost, schedule, and risk integration in PMO context.
Strong background in programme-wide systems implementation and training.
Experience managing planning / support remotely and across geographies.
Excellent communicator with cross-cultural and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strategic thinker with hands-on technical expertise.
Analytical and data-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong leadership presence with ability to mentor and inspire technical teams.
Comfortable in both agile, fast-paced environments and structured PMO frameworks.
High integrity, transparency, and focus on relationship-building.
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
PMI membership (CAPM, PMP in progress).
Formal training in Primavera P6, PowerBi or similar project management systems.
