**As our Principal Business Services Officer (HR), you will**:

- Contribute HR specialist knowledge and advice to facilitate effective delivery of high-quality services and/or projects and strategies that are relevant across the business group or within a program area.
- Within scope of influence and responsibility, ensure and drive business group compliance with governance policy, legislation, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Ensure ongoing delivery of quality service provision in HR by writing, reviewing and/or updating relevant planning documents (e.g., workforce management plans) and/or communication resources (e.g., guidance documents, information sharing platforms).
- Prepare HR reports, submissions and correspondence of a substantial and complex nature addressing important and/or sensitive issues requiring specialist expertise and nuanced advice (e.g., on DAF HR policies, awards and employment law and regulation, Code of Conduct issues).
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by working in close collaboration with HR specialists consistently and effectively advocating the integration of best practice HR into business-as-usual procedures to promote a positive performance culture, prevent HR issues from arising and effectively and efficiently address issues when they do arise.
- Drive collaboration by building strong and effective partnerships and networks with internal and external stakeholders. This may involve representing Biosecurity Queensland on departmental committees or groups. - Contribute to staff and organisational capability development by sharing own specialist knowledge via coaching and/or mentoring.
- Based on rigorous, expert options analysis, recommend evidence-based solutions to address identified challenges and risks related to recruitment, conditions, entitlements, conditions of employment, redundancy and retrenchment including budgetary impacts.
- Model professional excellence and assist to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at building a positive team culture including around health, safety, and well-being of the workforce.
- Through participation in an active professional development program, maintain currency and further develop own contemporary capabilities in specialist business service area.
