Our UGL facility based in Adelaide performs maintenance on the Ghan and Indian Pacific trains, which are some of the most iconic rail journeys in the world.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trades Assistant to join the team. This position will be a permanent full time opportunity working on day shift roster 7:00 am-3.06pm, with overtime to be performed as required.

Reporting to the workshop supervisors, the main purpose of this role is to assist qualified trades staff in the performance of their work in a safe and efficient manner to deliver world class standards of service to our clients.

**About the role**
- Assist tradespeople as instructed to enable work to be carried out
- Operate hand tools in safe and efficient manner
- Assist in maintenance and overhaul activities on a variety of components
- Labouring duties as required
- Participate enthusiastically in our highly effective Continuous Improvement initiatives
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safe environment

**About You**
- Sound experience in a similar role assisting trades people in a heavy industry environment
- High level of measuring skills and eye for detail and quality standards
- Strong safety culture and an attitude of zero harm towards the environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Desire to learn and grow in a team that has a great culture and will want you to succeed
