OverviewA permanent 004 Ranger position is available at Blackdown Tableland National Park in Central Queensland.

Accommodation is provided at Blackdown Tableland National Park.Work alongside Ghungalu people to manage their spiritual lands and help protect, manage and present natural wonders and cultural treasures in the Duaringa work unit.
Most work will be field based, with some administrative tasks.ResponsibilitiesPlan for and deliver the Blackdown Tableland Operational Plan and the Duaringa annual work plan.Operate and maintain plant and equipment; control pest plants and animals; undertake planned burning and wildfire suppression; maintain park infrastructure.Manage small projects; undertake compliance and perform natural and cultural resource management duties.Provide on-ground supervision to field-based staff and work collaboratively with others; adapt to on-the-ground service requirements to ensure high-quality park management services.Undertake administrative tasks and assist with emergency response as needed.Monitor workplace health and safety and maintain records; procure goods and services as required.Support and promote the interests of First Nations people.Qualifications and SkillsNo mandatory qualifications are required to undertake this role; formal qualifications in Conservation and Land Management will be highly regarded.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team, as a supervisor, and independently.Practical skills and experience in the maintenance and operation of small power equipment and tools for asset maintenance.Ability to undertake law enforcement and compliance duties as part of park management; willingness to assist with emergency response and incident management.Commitment to a positive attitude, adaptability, and flexibility to on-the-ground service requirements.Ability to provide general information to park visitors and stakeholders and contribute to workforce diversity efforts.Additional InformationMost responsibilities involve fieldwork; occasional administrative tasks.Experience with environmental and service expertise; accountability for personal performance and team-oriented outcomes.If you have a positive attitude and can work (and live) with others, and occasionally alone, your application will be seriously considered.To apply, provide: your current resume (max 4 pages); a 1-2 page statement demonstrating ability or potential to fulfill the requirements under the "What we are looking for" section; information that helps understand how you could contribute to workforce diversity.Applications remain current for 12 months; include Job Ad Reference: QLD/654219/25 and Closing Date: Friday, 12 September 2025.Occupational group: Primary Industry & Environment; Seniority level: Not Applicable; Employment type: Full-time; Job function: Other; Industries: Government Administration.Get notified about new Ranger jobs in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia.
