About the Role
**The Audit Director Role is accountable for**:
Ensuring appropriate and timely assessment of the risks and controls in place across the ANZ Australia Retail and Australia Commercial portfolio, as well as the delivery of a portfolio of assurance activity. This activity will be aligned to:
Divisional;
Key Risk; or
A combination of assurance plans
Bringing a Digital lens to the Australia Retail and Australia Commercial portfolio, as the Retail and Commercial business drives its Data, Technology and Automation strategic agenda.
Contributing to the overall assurance opinions, as well as consider the way this work is delivered.
Working in close collaboration with the IA Global Management Team to deliver assurance plans and to manage teams effectively.

What will your day look like?
Financial
Ensure timely and effective delivery of assurance reviews, including appropriate scheduling with workforce flexibility encouraged and utilised.
Clear contribution to and collaboration through IA matrix structure, assurance delivery is optimised with tangible savings made through improved assurance techniques used.
Customer
Develop positive and constructive relationship with key individuals who shape and drive portfolios. This includes driving IA strategy across portfolios, obtaining buy-in for both the completion of reviews and implementation of subsequent recommendations to create improvements in the way business is managed.
Develop strong relationships with Risk & Compliance stakeholders, and raise the standard in terms of "collective" and "continuous" assurance and design approaches to mature these key elements of the IA strategy.
Understand the Australia Retail and Australia Commercial portfolio and its related forward agenda - ensure adequate knowledge sharing to pick up all relevant angles and to effectively share this knowledge with the broader team. Use this knowledge to effectively design assurance activity to assist with business with forward looking assurance activity under the IA Strategy.
Raise the standard of customer experience and actively contribute to IA being seen as an integrated business partner.
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including being able to have and support the team through, challenging and constructive discussions.
Process
Contribute to and work in close collaboration with Global Management Team to deliver assurance plans and to manage teams effectively.
Contribute to the delivery of IA strategy through assurance delivery and active participation in driving strategic initiatives. In particular, drive the Data Analytics and Automation agenda within the team.
Implement and improve approaches to assurance to ensure that it is relevant, timely, effective and "no surprises" delivered.
Maintain clear and up to date analysis of the risk and control environment for the areas within the portfolio and use this to drive the annual plan and continuous assurance activities.
Oversee audit follow up and remediation activity.
Identifying and implementing innovative ideas to improve processes, employee experience and focus on ANZ end customer centricity. This includes staying abreast of new and emerging technologies to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.
People
Drive effective development, performance and management of IA team members. Motivate, guide and direct staff leading reviews to ensure achievement of both audit objectives and individual developmental initiatives.
Act as Performance Coach to IA team members. Provision of high quality performance management and development of direct reports.
Clear contribution to broader IA capability build in relationship management.

What will you bring?
Significant experience in leading concurrent medium sized audit / projects / risk teams working on medium to high complexity and profile reviews.
Experience and exposure to auditing of Technology and Data aspects as part of audits and/or Technology risk management experience, coupled with significant banking & finance industry knowledge.
Substantial experience auditing across complex environments coupled with in-depth knowledge and exposure to risk and control analysis of business areas and processes, using this to design and deliver effective assurance. This includes an understanding of the regulatory landscape for Australia Retail and Australia Commercial.
Strong negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience including Technology senior managemen
