We're looking for a leader who drives technical excellence and fosters innovation, who'll lead our engineering team to deliver high-quality products that support the company's vision and mission.ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to our COO, you will:Directly supervise engineering managers and, initially, some engineersPartner with our People team to attract and engage top talentFoster an engaged, collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven cultureProvide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team membersBe responsible for high quality and high velocity execution of the engineering orgIdentify, evaluate, and optimize processes to maximize efficiencyUnblock and push the team to hit deadlinesAnticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges and collaborate with the team to find the best scalable solutionsCollaborate successfully with cross functional partners including product, support and GTMAssist the GTM org in landing and serving our biggest customersPartner with product on delivering solutions to our customers that keep DISCO ahead of our competitorsUnderstand the music tech landscape and its trends, and help us make the right calls on buy/build/partnerQualificationsIs a proven leader who has successfully taken high-performance engineering teams through the scaling period DISCO is in (company size 70-100+, engineering team 20-40+)Has a strong record of hiring and developing great, diverse talentHas 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including experience overseeing an engineering org of 20+Is comfortable operating in an environment where you need to motivate teams by working both with managers and directly with engineersHas successfully managed hybrid and remote teams working across multiple time zonesHas 3+ years of experience overseeing the development of AI/ML products with successful outcomesHas experience delivering and maintaining B2B web apps, with some consumer-facing product experience preferredHas a strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team to achieve beyond what they think is possibleHas a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityHas strong architectural experienceIs enthusiastic about diving into the code and getting their hands dirty when neededHas strong technical mastery in software engineering but remains curious and committed to learning and improving their craftBenefitsAt DISCO, our employees have told us what benefits mean the most to them, and we've listened.
