In this role, you will create and maintain accurate, user-friendly documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safe Work Instructions (SWIs), technical bulletins, job plans, and training resources.You will work closely with subject matter experts, reliability engineers, planners, and OEM representatives to ensure maintenance documents areclear, consistent, compliantand accessible to the workforce - helping standardise work processes, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop, write, and edit SOPs, SWIs, job plans, and other maintenance documentation for mobile fleet operationsCollaborate with technical experts to capture process steps, safety controls, tools, and best practicesReview and revise documentation after incidents, engineering changes, or process updatesFormat documents using company templates to ensure clarity, consistency, and complianceMaintain document control, version history, approval workflows, and metadata in accordance with site standardsAlign documentation with risk assessments, isolation procedures, and legislative requirementsCreate user-friendly guides, graphics, and quick-reference tools to support training and competency programsParticipate in toolbox talks, field walkdowns, and rollout meetings to ensure practical adoption of proceduresSupport audit preparation by providing document control evidence and compliance traceabilityIdentify outdated documents and coordinate timely updates with relevant stakeholdersABOUT YOUQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEDiploma or Degree inTechnical Writing, Engineering, Communications, or related fieldMinimum3 years'technical writing experience inmining, heavy industry, or engineeringenvironmentsUnderstanding ofstatutory and OEM documentation requirements(DMIRS, AS/NZS ISO standards)Knowledge of mobile equipment maintenance practices (CAT, Komatsu, Liebherr preferred)Experience with document control systems (e.g. SAP DMS, SharePoint) and CMMS platforms (e.g. AMT, SAP PM)Current WAC Class Driver's LicenceSKILLS & ATTRIBUTESStrong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical informationFamiliarity with isolation procedures, risk controls, and permit systemsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematicsStrong collaboration skills - able to work effectively with tradespeople, engineers, and trainersProficient inMicrosoft Office Suite,Visio, and visual content creation tools (e.g. Snagit, Canva)High attention to detail with a focus on safety and usabilityBENEFITSPermanent full-time role with an immediate start.Excellent remuneration package with additional allowances.Receive a $12k residential allowance per annum, if you are residential and not FIFO.Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location.Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.A fully covered family private health insurance through GU Health Complete Gold Cover or allowance up to $5k.A fully covered Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance or allowance up to $2.4k.Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.Work with a team that prioritises safety.EMPLOYER QUESTIONSYour application will include the following questions:How many years' experience do you have as a technical writer?
