**Participant Directed - MALE Support Worker ONLY (Under 35 years old)**
**Location**: Gungahlin, ACT 2912
**Employment Type**: Casual or Contractor (ABN or employment options negotiable)

**About the Role**:
An NDIS participant in **Gungahlin, ACT** is seeking an experienced and compassionate **male support worker (under 35 years old)** to provide ongoing supports in line with their personal care preferences, safety, and comfort.

This is a **strict participant-directed preference for MALE support staff only** due to the participant's personal comfort and emotional wellbeing.

Supports are **non-hands-on personal care (verbal prompting only)** and include:

- Verbal prompting and reassurance during personal care routines (e.g. bathroom, dressing).
- Emotional regulation, companionship, and social engagement.
- Community access support.
- Building trust and rapport while maintaining clear, professional boundaries.

**Shifts**:

- Primarily **afternoon support**.
- Some **mornings as needed**.
- Ongoing, consistent relationship preferred.

Essential Requirements:

- **MALE worker only (strict participant-directed preference).**:

- **Under 35 years old.**:

- Experience with complex needs, autism, intellectual disability, or mental health preferred.
- Inclusive and affirming approach to gender identity and diversity.
- Strong professional boundaries and emotional resilience.
- Compassionate, relationship-based support approach.
- Comfortable working independently while maintaining participant safety and dignity.

Mandatory Compliance Documents (Must be current and provided before onboarding):

- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Working With Children Check (NSW or ACT)
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Proof of Car Insurance and Vehicle Registration
- Certificate of Completion for the **NDIS Quality, Safety, and You Module**:

- Relevant certificates, diplomas, or degrees related to disability, community services, mental health, or support work

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $33.96 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
