We are actively seeking a proactive and solutions-focused Tactical Buyer to join our Engineering Technology and Assets team.
Based at our Berrima Cement Works, you will provide expert purchasing support for raw materials and engineering & maintenance equipment/parts.
In this fast-paced and high-volume environment, you will interact with operational stakeholders, our Procurement team, and key vendors to deliver a sustainable, competitive advantage for our Boral Cement operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned Trades professional seeking a career change or a Graduate Mechanical Engineer.
Your ability to understand the technical needs of our sites and to think on your feet to achieve procurement outcomes will contribute to your success in this role.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Your day will involve:
Partnering with Boral Cement and suppliers to ensure goods and services are provided on time, at the right location, at the best cost and value
Sourcing suppliers and/or quotes for work
Processing purchase order requisitions and amendments
Maintaining open purchase orders and resolving invoicing issues
Supporting the purchasing function to ensure service level agreements are maintained
Contributing to the team's targets around savings, value, risk management, and governance
Enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of purchasing activities
What are we looking for?
Experienced Trade professionals or newly Graduated Mechanical Engineers are welcome to apply
Ability to interpret technical specifications and work scopes
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills within a commercial environment
Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills
Capability to manage high volumes in a demanding environment
Good technological skills – experience with Maximo and Oracle is advantageous
