**About the Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a **Buyer **based in Canning Vale, WA to support** **Perishable and Freezer portfolio at Metcash Food Western Australia.

This is primarily an office-based role that focuses on building strong relationships with suppliers, retailers, and internal team members to unlock sales growth opportunities in the assigned portfolio. The role is linked to budgeted outcomes that are built into key performance indicators.

This role has a direct reporting line into the Grocery Buying Manager.

**In this Role**
- Develop strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Negotiate to achieve the best outcome for all parties.
- Develop communication strategies to ensure alignment across all stakeholders for any given event/activation.
- Use market insights and analytics to maximise sales and profit across the portfolio.
- Attention to detail over promotional activations.
- Build state-based plans to close sales and distribution gaps.
- Oversee the management of markdowns and waste.

**You're Likely a Match If***
- Strong ability to implement procedures and execute strategies.
- Proven ability in effective communication and relationship development.
- Strong presentation & influencing skills.
- Proven understanding of supermarket retailing and supply chain efficiencies.

**Technical Knowledge**
- Experience in adjusting to bespoke business software.
- Tertiary level qualification desired but not essential given the appropriate experience.
