Are you interested in learning a skilled trade and creating custom-made furniture and cabinetry?
As a cabinetmaking apprentice, you will work with a team of experienced professionals to learn the craft of designing, building, and installing custom cabinetry and furniture.
This hands-on learning experience will give you the opportunity to use a variety of tools and materials to create unique, high-quality pieces that meet the specific needs of clients.With the support of qualified tradespeople, you will be :Learning to construct and install a variety of custom cabinets and joinery through factory-based and on-site projectsMarking, cutting, and shaping wood using saws, chisels, and power toolsTrimming and gluing jointsExamining designs, drawings, and parts to determine specificationsCutting and shaping pieces of woodFitting hinges, drawers, and shelvesDelivering and installing completed products on sitePerforming any other tasks requested by the host employerApplicants will ideally meet the following criteria :Hold a genuine interest in woodworkBe well presented, enthusiastic, reliable, and punctualBe motivated with a positive attitudeMust be physically fitEffectively carry out instructionsHave strong problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to work within set timeframesEnjoy practical work and be able to use manual toolsDrivers license and own reliable transport would be an advantageBenefits :Award wages (paid fortnightly) plus superannuation, holiday leave loading, and allowancesFull-time employment/contract, 38+ hours per weekPaid TAFE block periods, work shirts provided, safety equipment suppliedUpon completion: Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber TechnologyLong-term career prospects for the right candidateOngoing coaching, support, and mentoring from qualified professionalsA dedicated Field Officer to support you during your apprenticeshipEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) to support your personal wellbeingModern Award rates apply.Access the PACT Calculator via the Fairwork website to understand your hourly rate.
