We are seeking to add a locally based Compliance Officer to the Binance Australia Derivatives team. The applicant will work alongside our local business teams and compliance teams globally to ensure Binance Australia Derivatives operates in accordance with its AFSL.
- Responsibilities
- Assist with the creation, maintenance and review of policies, procedures, and controls to identify, prevent, mitigate and manage regulatory risk
- Manage the complaints handling process, in particular, escalated complaints
- Assist with review of marketing promotions, client communications, and website content
- Maintain AFSL records and all required AFSL registers
- Investigate breaches and incidents and ensure timely resolution and improvement to control environment
- Assist with regulator correspondence and reporting for the AFSL
- Update investment and disclosure documentation in line with regulatory, legislative and business changes
- Coordinate Compliance Committee Meetings and preparation of board and compliance reports;Assist Responsible Managers with undertaking ongoing compliance monitoring reviews of business activities including derivative product reporting
- Manage relationships with key internal and external parties and promote a positive Compliance culture
- Assist the Responsible Managers and Directors with ad hoc risk and compliance tasks and projects
- Requirements
- At least 7 years' directly related experience in a similar legal or compliance role with a substantial knowledge of relevant rules and regulations and the day-to-day compliance affairs
- AFSL Compliance experience
- Professional certification is an added advantage (RG146 etc.)
- Experience with securities, OTC derivatives or CFD exposure highly desirable
- Good understanding of Corporations Act, ASIC, AFCA, and AUSTRAC preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global organization maintaining close contact with relevant teams across multiple locations
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining relationships, internally and externally
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide useful and efficient counsel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills;Good organisational skills
- Exposure and/or knowledgeable in cryptocurrency trading and exchanges is a plus.
