About the Role
- Manage allocated workloads to deliver medical entomology services within the Metro South Public Health Unit including field and laboratory activities as per described protocols, data entry and reporting, emergency intervention and reporting under professional guidance of senior Medical Entomology staff.
- Assist in delivery of mosquito monitoring programs (e.g., ovitrap programs), with a focus on the quality, responsiveness, and consistency of data processes (maps and spreadsheets).
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Provide accurate and timely advice and support to senior staff, partners, and other stakeholders, including the preparation of correspondence and reports.
- Participate in routine and emergency mosquito surveillance and management activities as required, including compliance with requirements of the Public Health Act 2005 (PHA) as guiding legislation for mosquito control activities. This position will hold an authority under PHA and be required to work under this at times.
