If so, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact at Melbourne Airport.As a senior leader within Melbourne Airport's People & Culture team, the Head of Learning & Capability will lead the design, development, and implementation of world-class learning, leadership development, and organisational capability initiatives that support our vision to create a high-performance culture.This role will work closely with senior leaders, managers, and subject-matter experts to drive business performance through tailored learning solutions, leadership development, and organisational capability programs.
Additionally, the Head of Learning & Capability will take a leadership role in executing our Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) strategy, ensuring that inclusion is integrated into all learning and development programs, and fostering a culture where all employees thrive.This role is suitable for a seasoned Learning & Organisational Development (L&OD) leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and has broad expertise across learning, development, capability frameworks, and D&I.Key responsibilities:Strategic Business Partnering & Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with senior leaders and teams to align learning, leadership, and D&I strategies with business objectives.Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including ELT and People & Culture teams.Oversee the development and implementation of Learning Plans aligned with Melbourne Airport's strategic goals and values.Learning & DevelopmentConduct needs assessments to identify capability gaps and growth opportunities.Design and deliver leadership, soft skills, team-building, and D&I-focused learning programs.Drive program evaluations, using feedback to refine future initiatives.Foster a learning culture by integrating leadership and behavioural development workshops.Diversity & Inclusion StrategyLead the execution of Melbourne Airport's D&I strategy, integrating D&I principles into all learning and capability initiatives.Partner with senior leadership to embed D&I goals in learning programs and foster an inclusive workplace.Track and report on D&I progress, ensuring initiatives are impactful and measurable.Organisational & Capability DevelopmentLead initiatives to enhance organisational capability, including change management and leadership effectiveness.Support talent management strategies such as succession planning and performance management.Align all initiatives with Melbourne Airport's purpose, values, and strategic goals.Coaching & FeedbackProvide coaching to senior leaders and managers to build leadership capabilities and team engagement.Lead the development and implementation of a Coaching & Feedback Framework.Data & AnalyticsLeverage data to assess and report on the impact of learning and development initiatives.Use insights to drive continuous improvement in learning programs.Team ManagementLead and mentor a team of six, setting clear objectives aligned with organisational priorities.Foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on innovation and continuous learning.Ensure the team delivers impactful learning initiatives that enhance employee and manager capability.The successful candidate will have:Extensive experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, or a related field, ideally within a large, complex corporate environment.Proven ability to design and implement multi-modal learning programs, with a focus on leadership and management capability.Strong understanding of adult learning principles and organisational development strategies.Demonstrated experience in developing and leading D&I strategies and initiatives, with a proven track record of creating inclusive learning environments.Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and build trust across various levels of the organisation.Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and deliver practical solutions that align with business objectives.Exposure to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives is highly regarded.Post-graduate qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Psychology, Learning, or a related field are preferred.We understand that not everyone will feel they meet all of these 100%.
