Montague Farms stretches from Legana in Tasmania right up to Batlow in New South Wales, stopping on the way at Narre Warren North, Harcourt, Ardmona, Dilpurra and Mildura. It consists of 1,000 hectares of productive orchards and significant packing operations. Montague Farms produces apples, pears, cherries, plums, peaches, apricots, grapes and citrus.
The Role:
We have one of Australia's premium, semi-automated fruit handling packhouses selling to all the major supermarkets and wholesalers
Working from our Narre Warren North Production Facility, and reporting to the Facility & Maintenance Manager, this opportunity is one to really make a positive difference to our business. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll lead and coordinate the maintenance team to ensure our mechanical assets operate at peak performance, with minimal downtime across the plant. In this dynamic food manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering both preventative and reactive maintenance, overseeing contractors, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities will include:
Lead and supervise daily maintenance operations, ensuring efficient team performance
Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
Utilise CMMS for planning, repairs, and spare parts management
Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth plant operations
Diagnose and repair machinery using mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Manage contractors and support continuous improvement across maintenance processes
Mentor and engage the maintenance team to drive accountability and results
Skills & Experiencerequired to be successful in this role:
Trade-qualified Fitter or Electrician with at least 5 years' experience in maintenance, engineering, or a similar hands-on role
Proven experience in planning maintenance activities and coordinating contractors
Solid understanding of food manufacturing operations and standards
Strong problem-solving abilities and clear, effective communication skills
