What You Will Be Doing As a Pathology Collector Reliever, you will be a core member of the team stepping into shifts to cover scheduled or unplanned absences at different Collection Clinics and in Hospital environments.You will be collecting blood & coordinating specimen samples from patients, using empathy and drive to deliver great customer service and quality healthcare.Courses involve travelling to different ACCs and Hospitals within a specific geographical area.
Your key responsibilities Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attentionFilling available shifts across a geographical areaKeeping meticulous records for every patient and sampleDelivering documentation within strict turnaround timesPreparing and packaging specimens for transport and testingLiaising with a range of people including customers, clinic staff and couriers What Type of Person Will Be Successful To be successful, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or will have gained a Cert III and be looking to embark on Pathology Collection.
You could also be a Registered Nurse looking to swap weekend and overnight work for regular daytime shifts.These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:A demonstrated experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy/ Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare backgroundExcellent customer service and communication skills, with a high level of empathyYou are organised, with strong time management and attention to detailYou are able to work autonomously, sometimes independently in a solo clinicYou hold a valid Driver's license and have flexibility to travel to multiple clinicsYou hold a Working with Children's Check or be willing to obtain oneYou must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to workAs a Collector Reliever, you will be willing to travel to varying clinics & hospitals depending on the needVaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this roleOther vaccinations based on location may be required / setting.
