About the role
The primary responsibility of the role is provision of specialist epidemiological services by designing, conducting, analysing and reporting of population health studies, data and investigations, (including investigations of disease outbreaks, assessment of non-communicable disease clusters and evaluation of health programs and interventions) as well as providing specialist epidemiological advice and technical support to public health and health service.
About you
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the collection, collation, analysis, critical appraisal and interpretation of health-related information and research evidence.
- Demonstrated specialist-level knowledge, expertise and skills in contemporary clinical practice standards in epidemiology or an advanced level of knowledge, expertise and skills in two or more clinical areas as a general specialist.
- Demonstrated advanced data analysis and technical knowledge and skills in the specialty area of Public Health epidemiology, including communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Demonstrated ability to provide independent specialist epidemiological advice regarding the quality and usefulness of epidemiological data for the purposes of policy and practice and public health research.
- Demonstrated ability to provide independent specialist epidemiological advice regarding the quality and usefulness of epidemiological data for the purposes of policy and practice and public health research.
- High level written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with and provide authoritative, expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
