The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Liability Underwriting team based in New South Wales to ensure professional underwriting standards is provided to internal and external customers, to develop and implement required underwriting action plans and to deliver quality service and financial targets to Plan, whilst always ensuring adherence to company risk, underwriting, and compliance standards.

**You'll be responsible for**:

- Leading and coaching a high-performing and supportive team of Liability Underwriters.
- Working with Distribution teams to ensure a highly responsive service mindset is adopted that actively contributes to a strong customer centric culture.
- Establishing a strategic planning rhythm for pipeline and renewal opportunities with Distribution to maximise conversion and retention rates.
- Managing workflow processes across the Liability Underwriting team to ensure market leading customer service is delivered to maintain positive Net Promoter Score (NPS) results.
- Contributing to the design of new systems, processes, and procedures with a view of delivering superior underwriting functions.
- Developing and implementing targeted business optimisation initiatives to ensure Underwriting meets customer and people targets.
- Facilitating an inclusive and collaborative environment with all Commercial initiatives and programs to further build on Allianz People Attributes and to ensure diverse thinking/best outcomes.

**About you**:

- Demonstrated previous experience as a Liability Underwriting Manager or a seasoned Senior Underwriter with Liability experience within General Insurance is highly preferred.
- Ability to lead, coach and build high performing teams.
- Adept at proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning, exchange knowledge, and elicit beneficial outcomes.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to optimise business value to customers by delivering high quality services and positive customer experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.
- Proven deep analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends, and links that inform judgements and solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence.
