Job description:
The purpose of the role and its unique contribution is to provide support to the broader corporate communications team with a focus on social media, media relations, measurement and general external corporate communications support. The role is also accountable for ensuring reputational issues impacting the business are proactively identified and regularly tracked across all channels.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Monitor social media and media coverage of IAG, its brands and industry to identify potential risks and manage monitoring budget and external providers.
- Responsible for media measurement and reporting across IAG and its brands
- Support the Corporate Affairs team in managing issues, working across the business to deliver timely communications to minimise negative impact at both internal and external levels.
- Initiate and manage the media relations for IAG and its brands advocacy programs. This will involve preparing media releases, social media, event support, media logistics and reporting.
- Assist Corporate Communications team members as required with other media relations activities including media requests, launches, projects and reporting.
- Take accountability for the day-to-day management of social media channels including publishing, monitoring and response; identify proactive opportunities and milestones which can be leveraged to create and share content for IAG and its brands.
- Contribute to the running and effectiveness of the IAG Newsroom providing content and ideas as needed.
- Ensure media and other stakeholder lists are regularly reviewed and kept up to date.
**Skills & Experience**
- At least 2-3 years relevant industry experience preferred
- Experience as a journalist, in a corporate public affairs team or in a communications agency
- Strong communication skills, particularly writing and verbal communications.
- An understanding of the way the media operates.
- Initiative and a can-do attitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interest in corporate communications and current affairs.
- University qualifications
- Ability to use databases/PowerPoint/word skills.
