This fintech is expanding its data and analytics capabilities and is looking for aData Engineerto help design, build, and maintain its modern cloud-native data platform.
The role is hands-on and well-suited to someone with strong technical skills in data engineering who is eager to grow their expertise in scalable data systems, modern pipelines, and advanced analytics environments.
Base pay
A$140,000.00/yr - A$150,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain reliable and scalable data pipelines using a modern data stack.
Work with stakeholders across engineering, analytics, and product teams to translate business requirements into data solutions.
Support the development and optimisation of the cloud data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, AWS RDS).
Collaborate with analytics engineers and data scientists to deliver clean, well-modelled datasets for reporting and advanced analytics.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy through monitoring, testing, and validation processes.
Contribute to the development of semantic models, dashboards, and BI solutions to improve access to insights.
Follow best practices in code quality, documentation, testing, and CI/CD to ensure maintainable and secure solutions.
Assist with troubleshooting, incident resolution, and ongoing optimisation of data systems.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS RDS).
Hands-on programming experience in Python for data transformation and automation.
Familiarity with modern data stack tools such as dbt and Airflow
Understanding of data modelling concepts and ETL/ELT best practices.
Exposure to tools such as Kafka, Segment, or Terraform is desirable.
Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
