As a car lover, you go beyond simply loving to drive - you are curious about how things work and passionate to learn the ropes. You view the automotive trade as both a science and a craft. As a 1st year apprentice, you spend each day learning different skill sets that will help expand your knowledge and assist in growing your career.

This opportunity will see you become a skilled, qualified, and in-demand mechanic within the automotive industry by receiving hands-on experience and training under the guidance of passionate and qualified Automotive professionals.

**About the Role**

A Light Vehicle Apprenticeship will provide you with the opportunity to build your practical and theoretical knowledge of cars across 4 years through on-the-job training and theory studies at TAFE.

**What Will You Learn in your 1st year?**
- Minor servicing of light vehicles
- Remove and replace broken or defective vehicle parts
- Test electrical systems and diagnose issues
- Assist and observe mechanics
- It is not all the fun stuff. You will also be; keeping work areas clean and tidy, moving and delivering cars, detailing vehicles.
- Operate automotive test equipment
- Follow safe working practices
- Use and maintain tools and equipment
- Identify automotive electrical systems, components, and more.
- Learn about new and emerging automotive technology.

**What Are We Looking For?**
- Commitment to a 4 year apprenticeship, including theory studies.
- Strong sense of self-motivation, enthusiasm and 'can do' attitude.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Professional presentation at all times.
- Honest, trustworthy and punctual.
- Parental approval to enter a probationary period if under 18
- Valid Manual Driver's License
- Automotive pre-apprenticeship or prior experience is _beneficial but not essential_.
