About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Grade 2 Social Worker to join our Wantirna Health Allied Health Dept. Wantirna Health West Ward is an innovative ward with a dedicated team that provide services to GEM patients as well as NDIS particpants. This role is supported by a site based social work team and Senior Social Workers, as well as a dynamic muti-disciplinary team. This role offers an opportunity for the Social Worker to learn and grow their clincial skills in a supportive environment that includes supervision and professional development opportunities. About you To be successful in this role you will possess:Eligibility for membership of the AASWExperience in a hospital settingHighly developed interpersonal skillsA strong commitment to high quality careThe ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team and also work autonomously as requiredExcellent communication and organisational skillsExcellent risk assessment skillsThe ability to lead complex discharge planningConflict resolution skills Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
